My name is Doc Downs. I grew up in a small town in Northern Illinois, but soon after I turned 18, I began traveling the world playing music. I did that most of my adult life while settling into Nashville, TN at the age of 23. I still reside here with my wonderful wife, who has dealt with my ups and downs for a solid 18 years, now. I was diagnosed with MS in April of 2015, but obviously had been showing signs of the disease before that. Who knows how long it has been attacking me? It began to effect my ability to play my instruments, so I turned my creative need toward the written word. I am still learning, so bear with me, but I hope you enjoy my story. I also hope you learn something from it, and I hope to learn more in return. The earlier posts will be the story of how I began to experience symptoms. After that, I intend it to be a place to learn about treatments, medications, ways of dealing with symptoms (the disease effects everyone differently, so guest writers are welcome), and a place to just not feel so alone. Thanks for your readership, and I hope to hear from you all soon!
